SOUTH 2008 SoCal Beach Soccer BU9 CHAMPIONS

ARSENAL FC BU10 WHITE

Arsenal FC (AFC) would like to congratulate the 2008 BU10 White-South team for winning the BU9 bracket in the 2008 Southern California Beach Soccer Championship at the Oceanside Harbor held on May 3rd and 4th. Coach Cliff Moss has set high expectations on these boys and certainly has instilled personal pride in their performance every minute of the game. The boys understood the task at hand and executed with style and grace.

After sweeping through regular pool play on the first day, the boys entered the semi-final game on the second day against a much tougher opponent in Oceanside Breakers prevailing with a come-from-behind 4-3 victory. AFC’s relentless play and determination placed them in the championship game versus one of our very own Temecula/Murrieta Valley rival, TVSA Strikers, who won their semi-final game earlier. It was a much anticipated game not only for the players but also for the fans. With much excitement in the air, our boys jumped to a very early lead of 3-0 and never looked back with a final score of 9-3. Arsenal’s relentless attack and scoring barrage helped captured their first championship of the new season.
After last year’s beach tournament finalist outcome the boys were on a mission to win it all this year. This could not have been possible however, without the addition of a few “solid and relentless” players (Austin Tanner, Daniel Bernal and Ezekiel Alvarez). Returning players are as follows: Brian Gonzalez (captain), Adonis Cornejo (captain), Simon Bortcosh, Noah Mabra, Jacob Pickell and Andrew Kingston.

Great job boys and continued success in the new season!!
